If you belong to the second group, check out how you can get rid of the discomfort. Our tips will help not only with morning nausea, but also with nausea during the day and in the evening. Try them out!

Nausea in pregnancy – what is it and where does it come from?

Nausea, or the feeling of needing to vomit, is one of the first symptoms of pregnancy. They usually appear around the fourth week of pregnancy and last until the twelfth week, and sometimes longer – even until delivery. They may be accompanied by pale skin, dizziness, a drop in blood pressure and increased sweating. Although nausea is unpleasant, it is experienced by 50 to 90 percent of women, with varying frequency and severity. It is a natural reaction of the body to hormonal changes occurring in the pregnant woman’s body.

What is important, nausea is not a cause for concern unless it prevents normal food intake and the pregnant woman returns everything she has eaten or even is unable to touch anything. It is also said that nausea appeared not accidentally, as a kind of protection for women unaware of their condition from unhealthy ingredients.

How to get rid of nausea in pregnancy with home remedies?

Taking medications in pregnancy is strongly limited, and in any case you need to consult a doctor. There are pills for nausea, however, home remedies are equally great to deal with it. Below we cite some of the most popular and effective ones.

Breakfast in bed

Prevention of nausea begins from the first moments after waking up. Absolutely do not break off quickly or make other sudden movements. In addition, it is good to eat breakfast in bed or at least a small snack with a neutral taste. These can be crackers, crispy bread, rice wafers or corn crisps. After the meal, lie down for a while and only then you can get up and start your day.

Almonds

A good snack is almonds. They not only work to reduce nausea, but also lower blood sugar levels and are additionally calming.

Eat less but more often

The feeling of overeating, but also the feeling of hunger can increase nausea during pregnancy. Therefore, it is worth eating 5-6 smaller portions of easily digestible and high-protein products instead of 3 large ones. Remember also to have healthy snacks on hand. This way you will keep your blood sugar level stable and provide yourself with energy. We stay away from spicy foods with intense taste and smell.

An infusion of ginger, raspberry leaves and lemon – what to drink

Here it is worth noting that we should drink most between meals, not during them. Regular hydration is very important. In addition, it is proven that the infusion of ginger (for example, with the addition of cane sugar or cinnamon) and the infusion of raspberry leaves helps nausea in pregnancy. Lemon is also a great remedy – chew it, suck on a piece of it or add it to water or tea, for example. Apart from that, water is the basis. You can also drink natural fruit and vegetable juices and milk.
